Every year around this time we like to take a look back to see what the most popular wines were on our online store in the prior year. This year, we saw a few newcomers to the list, and many long-time fan faves.
Without further ado, here are our Top 10 Fan Favorite Wines of 2017!
Lot 75 Reserve Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, CA
Delicious Russian River Pinot for under $20? It’s no wonder Lot 75 was our number one fan favorite of 2017. This is our most popular reserve wine, period. But this past year it beat out all of the wines to come out on top. If you haven’t tried our Lot 75, perhaps you should make it one your New Year’s resolutions!
Lot 150 Collector Series Cabernet Sauvignon, Spring Mountain District, Napa Valley, CA
Lot 150 was our biggest release of the year, and it was one of our fastest selling wines of all time. Some wines we get vintage-after-vintage. This wine was, unfortunately, a one-time (lucky) find. A truly fantastic Cabernet from one of Spring Mountain’s best producers (at half off the source price). Doesn’t get much better than this!
Lot 2 Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
There’s a reason that Lot 2 has stuck around since the beginning days of 90+ Cellars: it’s a delicious Sauvignon Blanc and by far and away one of the best values in our portfolio. Time and time again, we hear from our fans that they can’t get enough of this wine. It’s our number one seller around the country, and this year, it was our most ordered core wine online as well.
Lot 50 Prosecco, Veneto, Italy
The Prosecco category has been on fire for the past few years, and Lot 50 has become one of our year-round best sellers. We’re so glad that people have warmed up to the idea of bubbles all year long. And for under $12, you can afford to have these delicious bubbles anytime you want!
Lot 42 Pinot Grigio, Trentino, Italy
Crisp, bright and textured, this is one Pinot Grigio you don’t want to miss. Our fans know that in the under $12 range there is boring Pinot Grigio, and there is THIS Pinot Grigio! From the cool climate mountainous region of Trentino, Italy, Lot 42 is a wine made to please. It drinks like a Pinot Grigio twice its price.
Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon, California
Our big, bold Iron Side Cabernet has broken into our top 10 fan faves every year since its inception. And this year is no different. For those who look for that bold fruit that California provides, it’s hard to find a better wine for the price. The next vintage of Iron Side Cab is on its way, so if you’re a fan of this wine, better stock up now before the 2015s are all gone!
Lot 113 Big Red Blend, Lodi, California
It’s big. It’s red. And it’s a special blend of Lodi, California grapes that has become one of our fan faves for the perfect weekday wine. If you’re counting, Big Red is also the number one red wine on this list from our core series.
Lot 128 Gran Vino, Navarra, Spain
Gran Vino is a wine lover’s wine. It’s easily one of the best values in our entire portfolio. And it’s a staff favorite. Fan’s of Gran Vino know this wine rocks, and we’re really glad to see it creeping up into our top fan favorites list this year. This wine deserves to be here! A delicious Spanish red blend that needs to be on your must drink list.
Lot 23 Old Vine Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
Lot 23 is one of our “mountain wines,” from the high-elevation region of Mendoza, Argentina. At this price point, you can find some pretty mediocre Malbecs on the market. But we think our Lot 23 stands out as one of the best. And, apparently, our fans do too! If you love Malbec, maybe it’s time to give Lot 23 a try.
Lot 94 Collector Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford, Napa Valley
Rounding out our top 10 of 2017 is our Collector Series Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from the prestigious Rutherford Appellation. Like our Russian River Pinot Noir, this wine is all about providing a killer wine for a price point that is, on a whole, much less than other Rutherford Cabs. If it weren’t for Lot 150 this year, Lot 94 would have been the top dog Collector Series wine on the top 10. But this year, it will have to settle for the number 2 spot.
