TASTING NOTES

Pale pink, and lively on the palate, with aromas of strawberries, raspberries and orange peel accompanied by hints of citrus fruit, apples and orange blossom. The wine is light bodied and silky with a hint of racy acidity. Pair this Sancerre rosé with grilled halibut topped with a fresh peach salsa or just savored on its own (preferably in the sunshine).

DESCRIPTION

Sancerre may be best known for its famous Sauvignon Blanc wines, but this rosé of Pinot Noir should not be missed. Light bodied and silky, Lot 196 is boundlessly fresh, pulsing with racy acidity. When it comes to rosé, this wine is a treat!

In France’s Central Loire Valley lies a small village, Sainte Gemme, with vineyard soils composed of clay and limestone. This is where the Pinot Noir grapes for this Sancerre Rosé are grown. The wine receives its pale pink color by allowing the skins of the grape to mix with the juice for a short time, after which they are delicately pressed and fermented. The supple texture of the wine is a result of the fine lees aging the wine undergoes before bottling.
