DESCRIPTION

This steely white wine is made from Chenin Blanc grapes in the historic French province of Touraine. A dry style of Chenin, Lot 208 has racy acidity and fresh fruit, delivering a tangy and mouthwatering sip.

In the mid Loire Valley, Chenin Blanc grapes grow on ancient limestone soils. Mists from the Loire River create conditions that result in a wine with freshness and concentration. The grapes are gently pressed, and the juice is allowed to settle prior to a cool fermentation in stainless steel. Several months of aging on the fine lees occurs prior to bottling in late spring after the vintage. Vouvray can range from still to sparkling, dry to sweet. Our version is sec, meaning dry, and the wine is an ideal candidate for aging up to 5 years.
