TASTING NOTES

Black cherries and currants burst from the glass with a light toastiness and a hint of vanilla and earthiness lingering on the finish. Pair this beauty alongside beef tenderloin with roasted garlic or a medley of assorted cheeses.

DESCRIPTION

Like the great Barolo, Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes harvested from hillside vineyards in northern Italy. This wine, like Lot 26 Barolo, comes from a small family winery that has been producing world class wines for multiple generations.

Between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, Nebbiolo vines blanket the high hillsides northeast of the town of Alba. On these slopes, warm sun mixes with cool alpine air allowing the late ripening Nebbiolo to achieve full flavor ripeness, firm texture and a brilliant freshness. To make the wine, bunches are hand harvested, then the wine undergoes a post-fermentation maceration with the skins prior to being pressed and racked into large Slavonian oak barrels. It will mature for a combined 26 months in barrel and bottle prior to release.
