Sangiovese has been grown in the lush rolling hills of Chianti for hundreds of years, producing some of the world’s most classic red wines. Lot 144 Chianti Riserva is a testament to the greatness of this classic region, showcasing beautiful red fruit, and rustic earth and spice.
This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes that are grown at a family-run estate that dates back over a century. After harvest, the grapes go through a slow fermentation that lasts for about 15 days. The wine then ages for a year in large oak casks in the estate’s underground cellars, and then for an additional year in bottle, creating an elegant and layered profile. In order to be classified as a Chianti Riserva, the wine must be aged for at least two years before release.
