DESCRIPTION
Burgundy is the birthplace of Pinot Noir, and is arguably the world’s
greatest region for producing Pinot Noir wines of the highest quality.
Known for centuries for elegant aroma and ethereal beauty, Burgundy’s
Pinot Noir is grown on slightly sloping vineyards in soils of limestone
and clay. Warm summer sunshine ripens the grapes to near perfection
while cool nights extend the growing season leading to a wine with
both freshness and finesse.
“Bourgogne” is a regional classification that refers to Pinot Noir wines
that can come from grapes grown anywhere in Burgundy. In the case of
this wine, however, the grapes come entirely from the Cote d’Or—home
to Burgundy’s greatest vineyards and wines—making this Bourgogne
Rouge a step above many others on the shelf. Grapes are hand harvested
and 100% destemmed prior to fermentation. Vinification is done in the
Burgundian tradition of open tanks for 10-15 days with regular pigage,
or punch downs. The finished wines are lightly pressed and mature in
neutral barrel for 8 months.

TASTING NOTES
Fragrant with red berry and floral aromas followed by a delicate but long finish. Fresh red cherries and plums blend with notes of violets. This wine pairs well with a light dish like cherry tomato tart with basil or grilled salmon with sweet onions and red bell peppers.
