In the northernmost part of Burgundy lies the wonderful region of Chablis. The Chardonnay made here has a unique steely quality and minerality like no other. Lot 217 is the essence of this great region— unoaked, pure, Burgundian magic.
In the cool, continental climate of Chablis, vines are planted on southern facing hillsides to capture the light and warmth of the sun. The soil is composed of Kimmeridgian clay, calcareous in nature and populated with 150 million year-old fossils. Through a cold fermentation and no oak aging, the fruit is allowed to shine through in its full glory, producing a wine that is beautifully fresh and bright with delicate flavors and a flinty presence.
