The Dão is one of the oldest wine regions in Portugal, located just south of the famous Douro Valley. The vineyard in which this wine originates is set alongside the mountain ranges of Serra da Estrela and Caramulo. There, grapes grow in ancient sandy granite soils, where tannin and acid develop to produce wines with elegance and longevity.
Perfectly ripe grape bunches are hand harvested from high altitude vineyards. The wine is made from a blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, and 30% Alfocheiro, which are all native Portuguese grapes.
