DESCRIPTION
Barbera d'Alba is a key DOC of Piedmont, in northwest Italy, famed for its tangy, cherry-like red wines made from Barbera grapes.
Lot 27 Barbera is made by the same acclaimed family winery that produces our Lot 26 Barolo. The grapes that go into this wine are harvested from vineyards of calcareous clay soils near the town of Monforte d’Alba. The grapes undergo a soft crushing followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation using selected yeasts. The wine is matured in French oak for one year prior to release.
TASTING NOTES
Complex and concentrated aromas of raspberry and black cherry with hints of toasted hazelnut, chocolate, and leather. The finish is long and filled with bright red fruit and toasted oak flavors. Serve this wine with spaghetti Bolognese with a hefty dose of freshly grated parmesan cheese.
