DESCRIPTION

Arneis is a naturally low-yielding and subtly aromatic white grape native to northwest Italy. It is particularly fond of the sandy soils of Roero which lie across the Tanaro river northwest of the town of Alba, where it earned the nickname Barolo Bianco (white Barolo). The cool climate of northwestern Italy produces dry and aromatic Arneis, pale in hue.
Bunches are hand-harvested from steep hillside vineyards characterized by their calcareous siliceous soils, rich in quartz sands and clays mixed with sandstone. After picking, the grapes are brought to the cellar for destalking and soft pressing to extract the pure juice without much solid matter or contact with the skins. The wine ferments under cool conditions to preserve its aromatic character and matures only a short time on the fine lees prior to bottling.

TASTING NOTES

Fresh aromas of citrus fruits and a slight nuttiness fill the nose. These flavors give way to peach and honeysuckle on the palate, which pleasantly linger in the wine's long finish. Enjoy on its own or pair with creamy herbed pasta dishes or roasted/grilled fish.
