The small town of Sancerre sits on the banks of the river Loire just across
from its famous neighbor, Pouilly Fume. The vineyards that surround the
town are planted on ancient soils of limestone and flint, producing racy
Sauvignon Blanc wines that are rich with stony minerals.
One of our most sought-after wines, Lot 126 Sancerre is produced in small quantities and represents one of the greatest values on the Sancerre shelf. After grapes are picked, the fruit is gently pressed, then goes through a cool fermentation. The wine matures 4-6 months on fine lees prior to bottling.
A delicate perfume of white flowers with hints of citrus and flint give way to a silken texture and grapefruit-laced finish. Balanced and crisp, this is a wine destined for the finest tables, but happiest among a humble goat cheese topped salad.

Sancerre is my favorite white and when I saw this selection I had to try it. I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed and will definitely reorder. It was everything a Sancerre should be: light and crisp with a very satisfying finish. Sancerre is often difficult to find at a reasonable price -- this one is worth the price.
