DESCRIPTION
El Dorado County, nestled in California’s Sierra Foothills, has a rich history
of wine dating back to the 1800s. The region has many high-elevation
vineyards on steep slopes that benefit from warm summer days and cool
nights. There are nearly 100 varietals grown in El Dorado vineyards, but
the region is especially known for the rich, textured and spice-driven
Zinfandel wines it produces.
Most of the grapes that go into this Zinfandel come from El Dorado
County, where warm days and cool nights allow grapes to slowly
reach optimum maturity while maintaining excellent natural acidity.
This, combined with minimal irrigation, results in a balanced wine
rich with varietal character. This wine spends over a year in neutral
oak barrels before being bottled.
TASTING NOTES
Medium to full-bodied with intense dark berry fruit, black pepper and spice aromas. Bold, textured, and rustic with concentrated flavors that pack a punch!
