    DESCRIPTION

The word "Cru" is reserved for the Barolo region's best vineyard sites. One of these famous sites is "Bussia" in the commune of Monforte d'Alba. Monforte wines are known as some of the most robust and tannic. However, the special situation of the Bussia Cru results in a gentler texture while preserving weight and structure.

Nebbiolo vines are planted in soils consisting mostly of clay and limestone on a hillside facing south. This combination of soil and aspect results in well-concentrated and structured wines with long-term aging potential. Nebbiolo bunches are hand-selected for optimum ripeness of sugars and tannin and delivered to the winery where they undergo a temperature-controlled fermentation. From there, the wine goes through a two-year maturation in a blend of new and one-year-old French oak barrels. By law, the wine can only be released in the 4th year after the harvest.

    TASTING NOTES

This wine will captivate you with its relentless charm and persuasive brawn. Medium garnet in color with hypnotic aromas of dark cherries, roses, tobacco and cedar. Generous in flavor and refined in texture, the red wines of Bussia offer a unique taste of Barolo's past and future greatness.
