Up next for the 90+ Cellars Wine Truck Sessions is a Labor Day special featuring wine educator, owner of Sip Wine Education, and our friend, Maia Gosselin. We took the Wine Truck for a scenic drive along the coast just north of Boston to Swampscott, Mass. A charming seaside town with views of the city skyline, it was the perfect setting for us to start thinking about the wines we will be sipping throughout the upcoming holiday weekend.
So pour yourself a glass of wine and join Brett and Maia as they take us through three delicious wines that are great go-tos for Labor Day Weekend, no matter your plans. Check out the full video below and follow @90pluscellars on Instagram, where we’ll be announcing our upcoming Wine Truck Sessions! You can also watch the first two episodes: Summer Wine Cocktails and Summer Food and Wine Pairings.
Lot 132 Côtes de Provence Rosé
Why we love it:
- Dry, crisp, and mineral-driven, this wine hails from Provence, the rosé capital of the world.
- Having a chilled rosé at the ready is essential as we bask in the final days of summer.
- Rosé pairs well with a wide range of quintessential cookout foods, from cheese boards and grilled veggies to lobster, pasta, and chicken salads.
Lot 170 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine
Why we love it:
- This is a refreshingly dry, crisp white wine from the Loire Valley in France.
- Its bright acidity and citrus notes pair perfectly with fresh seafood dishes, especially freshly shucked oysters.
- Muscadet is also a great alternative to more mainstream white wine varieties like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
Lot 165 Rockpile Zinfandel
Why we love it:
- This rich, full-bodied Zinfandel is from Sonoma's acclaimed Rockpile AVA.
- You will need something with a bit more substance when you break out the heartier grilled meats, and this is definitely the wine to grab.
- Don’t confuse this red Zinfandel with White Zinfandel, which is made from the same variety but is pink and much sweeter.
