Every year around this time we like to take a look back to see what the most popular wines were in the prior year. This year, we saw a few newcomers to the list, and many long-time fan faves.
Without further ado, here are our Top 10 Fan Favorite wines of 2020!
#1 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand - Lot 2
It's hard to unseat the champ! Lot 2 was one of our very first wines, and it still remains one of our most popular. Time and time again, we hear from our fans that they can't get enough of this crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
#2 Prosecco - Lot 50
Gone are the days of sparkling wine being a seasonal thing. Our fans drink Prosecco all year long! As we like to say, anytime is a good time to #MakeLifeBubbly!
#3 and 4 Life is Good Unplug Pinot Noir and Today is the Day Chardonnay, California
2020 was a year that made us look to the simple pleasures of life for a bit of optimism. And our partnership with lifestyle brand Life is Good was just the ticket. Unplug Pinot Noir and Today is the Day Chardonnay were created to celebrate the power of optimism and the simple mantra, "Life is Good!" We're glad you found these wines as comforting as we did.
#5 Old Vine Malbec, Argentina - Lot 23
Lot 23 Malbec is no stranger to our top 10 list. It's the perfect everyday red. Made from grapes grown on old vines at the foothills of Argentina's majestic Andes Mountains, we're not surprised to see it as our top red wine of 2020.
#6 French Fusion, Languedoc, France - Lot 21
We love to see our fans exploring French red blends out of Languedoc. This Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre blend is intensely flavorful and exhibits both power in its full-bodied structure and finesse in its savory texture.
#7 Rosé Languedoc, France - Lot 33
Would it be a "Top Wines of 2020" list without Rosé? Considering this is another hot wine category we're going to say the answer is a hard "no". If you like dry-yet fruity rosé wines that are French in style, easy-drinking and perfect for every occasion, you're going to love Lot 33 as much as the rest of us.
#8 Sparkling Rosé, Italy - Lot 49
Keep the bubbles coming! Our mantra of 2020 was #MakeLifeBubbly so we're happy to see that our fans were living our mantra as well. This elegantly fruity yet dry sparkling rosé is fresh and clean with pleasant acidity, and what's not to love about a fun pop of color in your wine glass?
#9 Pinot Grigio, Italy - Lot 42
Crisp, bright and textured, this is one Pinot Grigio you don't want to miss. From the cool climate, mountainous region of Trentino, Italy, Lot 42 is a wine made to please. It drinks like a Pinot Grigio twice its price.
#10 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA - Lot 94
Saving one of the bests for last, Lot 94 Cabernet is real deal Napa Cab at an unbeatable price. No wonder it was one of your faves!
