Every year around this time we like to take a look back to see what the most popular wines were in the prior year. This year, we saw a few newcomers to the list, and many long-time fan faves.
Without further ado, here are our Top 10 Fan Favorite wines of 2019!
#1 Prosecco DOCG Italy - Lot 50
Prosecco has been on fire for the past few years and Lot 50 has become one of our year-round best sellers. We're so glad that people have warmed up to the idea of bubbles all year long. And at this price, you can afford to have these delicious bubbles anytime you want. As we like to say, #MakeLifeBubbly!
#2 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand - Lot 2
It's hard to unseat the champ! Lot 2 was one of our very first wines we launched, and it still remains one of our most popular. Time and time again, we hear from our fans that they can't get enough of this crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
#3 Rosé Languedoc, France - Lot 33
Would it be a "Top Wines of 2019" list without Rosé? Considering this is another hot wine category we're going to say the answer is a hard "no". If you like dry-yet fruity rosé wines that are French in style, easy-drinking and perfect for every occasion, you're going to love Lot 33 as much as the rest of us.
#4 Pinot Grigio Trentino, Italy - Lot 42
Crisp, bright and textured, this is one Pinot Grigio you don't want to miss. From the cool climate, mountainous region of Trentino, Italy, Lot 42 is a wine made to please. It drinks like a Pinot Grigio twice its price.
#5 Old Vine Malbec Mendoza, Argentina - Lot 23
A top quality Malbec from Argentina at a great value. Old Vine Malbec was made from meticulously tended Malbec grapes grown on high-elevation, old vines in the Lujan de Cuyo region of Mendoza, in the foothils of the Andes. Grown at high-elevation and coming up high on our top 10 list!
#6 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley, California - Lot 75
Russian River Pinot Noir for under $20? It's no wonder Lot 75 was our number 2 fan favorite red wine of 2019. If you haven't tried this delicious California Pinot Noir, perhaps you should make it one of your New Year's resolutions!
#7 Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza, Argentina - Lot 53
Our 3rd most popular red wine also comes from the foothills of the Andes Mountains! While Argentina may be best known for its Malbec, the country produces a diversity of wines and Lot 53 is the perfect introduction to the power, potential and crowd-pleasing nature of Argentine Cabernet.
#8 Chardonnay, California - Lot 152
Lot 152 is proof that the New World can emulate exactly what we love from Old World Chardonnay wines. With a brilliantly fresh texture and light oak presence that doesn't overwhelm the wine, our cool-climate California Chardonnay lends a balance that we're ready to enjoy more of in 2020.
#9 Pinot Noir, California - Lot 179
When we introduced our Lot 179 Pinot Noir this past summer, we said it was bound to become any Pinot-lover's go-to for everyday occasions, and now seeing that it's already bumped its way into our top 10 wines of the whole year, we can see that we were right! If you like well-balanced Pinot Noir with the right amount of acidity and ripeness, along with hints of oak and spice, this wine will be right in your wheel house!
#10 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, CA - Lot 94
It appears our list is trending towards the California wine lovers! Saving one of the bests for last, Lot 94 Napa Valley Cabernet is our most popular Collector's Series wine. Full-bodied and well-rounded with soft edges and a lively dose of bright cherry fruit... this is real deal Napa Cab at an incredible price.
