Rockin the Riverside BBQ
Last month's Riverside BBQ event was great, but this month's (again held at Brighton's Harry Parker Boathouse) was even better thanks to a great big crowd! No doubt in part thanks to the word of mouth about what a fantastic deal the last two BBQs were. For just $35, ticket holders got food, wine, beer, and excellent entertainment. Attendees can thank West Bridge, Hungry Mother, and State Park for the tasty eats: BBQ lamb, BBQ chicken sandwiches, house-made pickles and green beans, slaw, and kale & black eyed pea salad.
The line for food remained at the same length almost right up until the food ran out, thanks to impressed BBQ-goers coming back for seconds.
Don't let the above photo deceive you. For a time, we were afraid we'd get rained on!
But in true New England form, the clouds parted…then re-parted…then parted again, and stayed that way.
Thankfully we were prepared for both stormy and sunny weather since we brought both whites, red, and bubbles.
Folks were really loving our newest red, Lot 113 Big Red Blend (still $9.99 in our online store right now, through Thursday 8/21!).
Just like last month, folks had plenty of beers to choose from. This event is certainly a beer lover's paradise.
For those who couldn't choose between beer or bubbles, we once again offered our Lot 50 Shandy – Big Squeeze UFO Shandy topped with Lot 50 Prosecco!
Riverside BBQ is also hugely about the music. Lots of the people who came out were already fans of the bands playing, Tigerman WOAH! and The Silks. Dave Wells also contributed his musical talent.
Our friends at Scoopsies brought a very special flavor to the event – Riesling Poached Pear & Apricot Sorbet. Made with our Lot 66 Riesling! Can't wait to do more 90+ Cellars ice cream mash-ups with them in the future
Thank you again to the Riverside BBQ Series organizers for having us as part of this great community event, and we have exciting news for you all. A fourth session has been added, taking place Sunday 9/21! Be sure to like Riverside BBQ on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay in the loop on tickets. And be sure to sign up for our e-newsletter if you want to be aware of all the events we take part in that are as fun as this one!
Are you a fan of any of the beers served? Have you ever visited any of the restaurants that provided food? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter and Facebook!
