To Our Friends,
You will rejoice to know that the monster has returned. You should not fear for your safety, but you must take the proper precautions. Please assemble the following: one cork screw, many wine glasses, and numerous friends.
Our favorite monster has crept back into our nights. 90+ Cellars Lot 100 Monster Red Blend is a perennial favorite of those who have fallen under its trance. Like Shelley’s Frankenstein, this creature was pieced together and finished in a way that truly makes it come alive.
It was first discovered living over the Cascade Mountains in the Columbia Valley of Washington with the 2009 vintage. It appeared again with the 2010 vintage, with a slightly more Merlot driven blend. For some unexplainable reason, that bolt of electricity failed to give the 2011 life. Fortunately, lightning struck again in 2012 and what emerged may be its most exotic formation.
The 2012 Monster Red Blend is composed of 46% Cabernet Franc, 31% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are harvested from a select group of choice growers in the region, vinified separately by varietal, aged for 14 months in French oak, blended, and then aged for an additional 14 months before bottling. Dark and dense, Lot 100 gives off captivating aromas of dark currant, roasted coffee, cedar and smoke with faint hints of fresh herbs and mint.
This Halloween, put aside your fears of the unknown and enjoy your favorite Bordeaux varietals in a hair-raising new fashion. No cobwebs needed. This trick is definitely a treat!
