It's hard to believe that it's been a week since the Boston Magazine 2014 Best of Boston party! And seeing as we are a Boston-based company, it seemed fitting that our wine be the wine poured at the spectacular indoor/outdoor event. The evening's circus theme fit the fun, celebratory buzz in the air – which, by the way, was perfectly lacking in humidity. It was as if the weather gods decided that no hairdo would go ruined by frizz – no, not on this special evening.
The Black Falcon Cruise Terminal served as an excellent spacious place to hold such a well-attended event. Guests never felt crowded or cramped, and didn't have any trouble finding quieter spots (away from the band stage) in which to exchange well wishes and congratulations, without having to shout.
90+ Cellars wines poured included Lot 50 Prosecco, Lot 2 Sauvignon Blanc, and Lot 99 Chardonnay. Ironside Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon was also present, because of course how can we not bring a wine in part named after the Boston ship (nicknamed “Old Ironsides”) to a Best of Boston event?!
With help from Absolut Elyx we also jazzed up our Prosecco by including it in the event's signature cocktail, titled “Step Right Up”. The ingredients? Lot 50 Prosecco, Absolut Elyx, and mint. Simple, refreshing, and delightful.
Our Prosecco (along with Stella Artois) was also poured at the Winners Bubbly Bar, which was stationed at the entrance so that guests could kick off their evenings with a toast. After walking the red carpet and taking pictures, of course. Everything about the evening certainly made attendees feel celebrated and special.
We thought the event was the perfect opportunity to debut some new summer-themed stickers. Who doesn't love sipping bubbles with their beaches?!
Or sitting in luxurious cars? Thanks to sponsor Mercedes for that one!
The circus theme was reinforced thanks to acrobats, unicyclists, jugglers, and that classic strong-man carnival game.
All that sledgehammer swinging can certainly drum up an appetite. Attendees munched on a variety of food stationed at locations spread out throughout the event, so one never had to go far to find something. Especially since passed apps like mini lobster rolls, cucumber tarts, and avocado toasts were also being walked around by the staff at Capers Catering!
The funk, soul, and disco cover band Booty Vortex really kicked things up in the later portion of the event. As the sun went down, the dancing started up!
The party ended at 10PM but guests certainly could've kept dancing longer. On the way out each received a signature Stella Artois beer glass and a copy of the Best of Boston issue of Boston Magazine. Alas, no real doughnuts were given out.
Thank you to the attendees of the Best of Boston party for celebrating with us and congratulations on your achievements! We hope you enjoyed pairing 90+ Cellars and Ironside with your special evening.
