This past Tuesday, we had the chance to share wines by 90+ Cellars, Earthshaker Wines, and Mija Sangria with the 3,000 attendees of Boston Magazine's 2015 Best Fest! The party was not only important because it was a celebration of this year's Best of Boston Magazine picks. It was also the first time the annual celebration was open to the public, not just the winners!
Held in Boston's City Hall Plaza, the event featured food trucks, dishes by Best of Boston restaurant winners, live music by Tuxedo, giveaways from Vitamin Water and Kind Bar, and several photobooth opportunities.
There was certainly no shortage of food or drink. The line at our Rosé bar almost never dwindled and guests selected between (or both of!) Lot 124 Provence Rosé and Earthshaker Rosé de Pinot Noir.
Rosé is without a doubt the drink of this summer, and we were happy to be the ones providing it at Best Fest. Not a bottle was left by the end of the night!
The Mija Sangria bar featured Mija poured over ice, as well as the Mijalito Collins, a sangria cocktail designed by The Merchant's Bar Manager Ray Guerin. (To get the recipe and watch a demo video, click here!)
Don't let that serene photo fool you…it was taken before the event started. This was the scene at the sangria bar mid-event:
And of course at the main and VIP bars, a variety of 90+ Cellars reds, whites, and sparkling wines were poured, alongside SKYY Vodka cocktails, Stella beers, and Polar Seltzer water!
With drinks come food. Check out some of the bites we tried…starting with Sweet Cheeks, the creators of our favorite biscuits ever. They can be enjoyed solo, but were also served as a sandwich.
The Salty Pig was conveniently positioned right by our Rosé bar so it was easy for us to sample their Baccala Montecato.
And Shojo blew our MINDS with their Big Mac Buns! Seriously brilliant idea!
The Frogmore, a new venture from the folks at Fairsted Kitchen, received lots of praise for their cold fried chicken sandwich. Of course it included pickles!
The VIP tent featured exclusive bites, like the Shojo buns and Craigie on Main's zucchini hummus and pita.
We were just as impressed with Himalayan Bistro's fruit art as we were with the food served! (To clarify, both were incredible.)
And Georgetown Cupcake ended the evening on a sweetly festive note.
When the sun went down, things really kicked up by the stage. We definitely had some fun dancing to “Wagon Wheel”.
When the event ended at 11PM, people still seemed ready to party! That's a sure sign of a successful event. Big thanks to Boston Magazine for representing us so well and to all our fans who showed up to celebrate with our wine and sangria. We hope you had a blast!
Do any of these eats look particularly tasty to you? What's your favorite Boston restaurant? Let us know in the comments!
