There are a bunch of great things about being a virtual winery. We get to hand pick exceptional wine from wineries all over the world and sell them at the price you want. Unlike traditional wineries that can only make wine from the grapes that grow in their vineyards, we have the freedom to bring you whatever wines we find awesome or interesting from absolutely anywhere. Plus, it’s much easier to stay connected to our customers when we are located near most of you. However, while Boston is chock full of legendary sports teams, wicked smaht entrepreneurs, and great breweries, it’s lacking in picturesque vineyards department. The thought of bringing guests up into our fabulously drab office in the attic of the Harpoon Brewery to taste our wine kind of makes us wish we had a swanky Napa Valley address…or at least a couple of oak barrels to spruce the place up.
Well, we’re still going to leave the winemaking to the experts, but it’s time for us to take most of the elements from a traditional tasting room, add a few personal touches, and throw a really fun party. So on Thursday, April 19th from 6-9pm, we’re hosting a “pop-up” tasting room at the Boston Wine School in Allston, MA…a part of Boston that’s pretty much the opposite of wine country, and that kind of works for us. Kevin, Brett, and a few other members of the 90+ Cellars crew will be hanging out and pouring every wine from our portfolio, so you can meet us, ask questions, and try a few new things. We’ll also have some appetizers and a DJ spinning tracks while you sip (a tasting room first, we think). If you like what you try, we’ll be offering a 20% discount on all of our wine at Brookline Liquor Mart next door during the tasting. Tickets are $20, and $5 from each ticket will go to our friends at the Greater Boston Food Bank, so you can do some good while you drink great wine. If this sounds like fun to you, go to http://90pluscellarspopup.eventbrite.com/ to grab tickets. We hope to see you there!
