The sideways, or East West, running San Rafael Mountain Range allows for the cool, foggy conditions perfect for growing this thin-skinned and slow ripening varietal. Sourced from three prized vineyards on the Western end of the Santa Maria Valley, aged for 6 months in oak barrels and treated with a minimalist approach, this wine showcases the unmistakable terroir of this unique place.
Dark and rich with intricate aromas of dried cherries, crushed herbs, cola, and sassafras. A mélange of flavors consisting of juicy, red berry fruit mixed with white pepper, caramel and sage pours forth on the palate leading into a long and savory finish.
