The reason we use ratings as our purchasing criteria is because you as the customer do as well. Studies show that many customers are influenced by ratings when purchasing wine. It also adds an objective third party to help us qualify and narrow down our selection process. We in no way are associated with or claim that our label has been rated by these publications. We provide the information just to show you as reference the quality pedigree of the wine we are buying.

While we don't necessarily advocate buying wines based on their ratings (because everyone's personal taste is different), we think only selecting wines that are well-structured enough to earn a 90+ rating in the first place is a great place to start. When you purchase a 90+ Cellars wine, you're getting premium quality at value pricing–a great way to win over sophisticated wine buyers on a budget.

Wine ratings are generally based on a 100-point quality scale, and are selected by each publication’s unique criteria. While ratings influence your decision and is our buying criteria, the ultimate judgment is your palate. Below is a sample of the well recognized publications that we will be referencing and corresponding code:

WS - Wine Spectator
RP - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
WE - Wine Enthusiast
ST - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar
W&S - Wine and Spirits
JH - James Halliday Australian Wine Companion
CG - Connoisseurs’ Guide
WN - The Wine News
FW- Food and Wine
